We need to

ARGUE, or

pin down,

that Cause!

The TORAH teaches that GOD was

before all this and caused all this, but

Christians are told JESUS did it all!

what is the TRUTH!

 Or BIG

BANG!

Genesis 1:1 [TENAKH] "When God began to create heaven and earth-

2 the earth being unformed and void, with darkness over the surface

of the deep and a wind from God sweeping over the water ---

3 God said, "Let there be light";

and there

was Light!" 

John 1:1 [KJV]"In the beginning was the WORD,

and the WORD was with God, and

the WORD was God."

Superficially, there seem to be three "CAUSES"

here, "nothing" [Science], Yahweh [TANAKH],

or Jesus [Trinitarian View of John 1:1-3]

We will now show that carefully analyzed none

of these can be defended logically as being the

real meaning, and indeed all AGREE!

THE ANALYSIS!

Genesis 1:1-3 [TANAKH] "When God began to

create heaven and earth ...."

Here what is NOT said is perhaps more IMPORTANT than

what is SAID....The text does NOT say "God began to create

THE UNIVERSE, but..."God began to create HEAVEN and EARTH"

Later verses designate WHICH heaven...the FIRMAMENT, or

that part of the SKY immediately surrounding EARTH..

"...the earth being unformed and void..."

This confirms what we already suspect, we are not here at

the real beginning of the UNIVERSE, and [very important]

not even the real beginning of the EARTH, which already

exists, but...is..."unformed and void [empty]"

"...with darkness over the face of the deep..."

Whether we call this "deep" space or a primeval ocean,

all agree, Science, OT, NT...that darkness preceded LIGHT!

"...and a wind from God sweeping over the

WATER..."

GOTCHA! CHECKMATE! Argument almost over!

Here it is OBVIOUS we are not dealing at the instant at

which the Universe was created, but MILLIONS of

years LATER, when WATERS covered all or

part of the EARTH!

SUMMARY: The TANAKH story of "Creation" in Gen.1:1-3

is not dealing with the BEGINNING of the UNIVERSE and

no real DIFFERENCE can be inferred with the Scientific

view that it started originally from near "nothing" or in

reality for practical purposes WE CANNOT KNOW!

NEXT we will deal with John 1:1 and how it

seems to disagree with both Science and with

Genesis 1:1-3
