began a series of Evangelistic Meetings in the STAFFORD MEMORIAL

CHURCH in Garland, North Carolina....attended largely by Mexican

Farm Laborers as well as English-speaking Garland residents of various

Faiths...The THEME was The MIRACLES of ELIJAH.....

..........Dr. Holt became the regular PASTOR of this group after this

series, and is licensed to PREACH by the CLEARVIEW HOLINESS

CHURCH...ELDON MALDONADO, a bi-lingual Evangelist, also assisted

with the meetings, at which a number of people were healed...........

September, 1987 Dr. Holt, always interested in Prophecy, as well as

the interface between RELIGION and HEALTH and MEDICINE, found

great significance in Pope John Paul II's major TOUR of the United States

in cooperation with President Ronald Reagan. The United States had

recently recognized the Vatican as a Soverign State for the first time in

American history..[Our forefathers came to America to AVOID such

political-religious entanglements and the persecution that results!]

......As a "REWARD" to the Pope for a secret pact between Reagan and

John-Paul II, America had already changed its policy in 1984 towards help-

ing underdeveloped nations in BIRTH-CONTROL EDUCATION under

pressure from the VATICAN.....Dr. Holt saw this as a fulfillment of certain

NUMERICAL prophecies in the BOOK of DANIEL.........At that time, Sept.

1987, he made some prophecies based on Pope John-Paul II's tour that

were fulfilled very accurately during the Gulf War "DESERT STORM" in

1990-1991, and in other events that occurred in 1994...

......With another member of the ELIJAH REVIVAL CHURCH of Garland,

NC, Dr. Holt traveled to New Orleans to experience himself the Charisma

this pontiff exercised over the United States of America and most of the

world at that time.......On that same trip the Garland "delegation" also visited

and experienced one of Jimmy Swaggart's REVIVALS in Baton Rouge.....

HURRICANE GILBERT...Sept.11,12,12...1988

In 1988, hundreds, perhaps thousands, of Evangelists and Preachers,

were expecting the "Third Wicked Generation of Israel" prophecy to be

fulfilled, since that year was 40 YEARS after Israel became a

NATION in the spring of 1948....Particularly vigorous in

"getting the WORD OUT" was a group shepherded by EDGAR WISE-

NANT, an accountant, former NASA employee, and practicing Pentecostal

PROPHET and Investigator, who had published a little book titled "88

Reasons Why the RAPTURE will be in 1988"....Seeing this as a

REPETITION of the MILLERITE experience 144 [not 144,000] years

previous to the FALL FEASTS of 1988, Dr. Holt documented the experi-

ence of the local promoters of the "RAPTURE 88" MOVEMENT, led by

JERRY McLAMB of Coats, NC....INSTEAD OF A "RAPTURE" ON

THE DATE PREDICTED BY EDGAR AND JERRY [AND MANY

OTHERS] THERE WAS HURRICANE GILBERT.

The "RAPTURE 88" people were, as we are all aware, "DISAPPOINTED"

when the world did not END on Sept 11, 12, and 13 of 1988...as were

the MILLERITES when the world did not END on October 22, 1844...

However, no one learns a whole lot from other people's mistakes and

disappointments.....Hysteria was high in 1999 in regards to the YEAR

2000 and aY2K Computer CODE "BUG"...No longer

expecting the World to END by Fire from HEAVEN, or some ACT

of the Almighty, many were predicting instead TEOTWAWKI..."The

END of the WORLD as we KNOW IT", expecting major disruption

of Banking, Government Programs, Military Installations, Food supply,

Medical care, Transportation, Public Utilities, and Public Confidence

due to "glitches" and failure in some COMPUTERS world-wide.

....There were, indeed, reasons for concern, and the WARNINGS

even from the Government were coming out in a muted fashion....

But most agreed the WORLD WOULD NOT END.
